History

Chester County Bank opened on April 22, 1968, in a mobile home on US Highway 45 South in Henderson, Tennessee. Several community leaders were instrumental in establishing the bank: Kenneth Woods, Bill Leonard, Joe Pevahouse, Lloyd Tatum, Joe Earl Simmons, Blaine Mosier, James H. Record, Johnny Naylor, Willard Seaton and Gus Bolen.

The bank moved to its present location at 224 West Main Street on February 26, 1969. In 1980, Chester County Bank took over an existing bank in Enville, Tennessee. The grand opening of the Enville Branch was March 22, 1980. Chester County Bancshares, Inc., a holding company, was established in 1983. On July 23, 1990, CCB opened the first supermarket branch in the community at Miller’s Big Star. On March 31, 1991, the East Branch at 657 East Main Street was opened. In 1996, Chester County Bancshares, Inc. acquired Farmers and Merchants Bank of Adamsville, Tennessee. In 1999, an ATM and new drive-thru opened at the Main Branch and in 2006, an ATM was installed inside Miller’s Big Star. CCB continues to strive to meet the growing demands of our customers.
